Inhaftierte Journalisten Kalender

Over the past twenty years, the number of imprisoned journalists has increased significantly. To visualize the scale of this issue, the calendar names one detained journalist for each day. The information includes where and when they were arrested, their profession, and the employer they were working for at the time. A 13-meter-long roll containing all the data is housed inside the typewriter. There is also a compartment where all torn-off pages can be archived. These pages can be removed weekly along the perforated edges.

The calendar was created in 2019 as a study project at the European School of Design. All assets, as well as the documentation, were created by Adrian Romero.

Inhaftierte Journalisten Kalender

To visualize the rising number of imprisoned journalists, this calendar features one detained journalist for each day, detailing their arrest and background. All entries are printed on a 13-meter roll housed inside a typewriter, with tear-off pages archived weekly.
